![]() A couple weeks ago I was introduced to Daeida magazine by a dead person. I was in Hollywood Forever looking for the graves of silent film actresses, as I am oft wont to do. I had finally found Seena Owen, who I had been looking for over the course of two trips to L.A. Resting on her vault cover was a business card for a man named David who was with Daeida. It had to have been a sign from Seena! So, of course, I contacted David right away to find out why he'd been visiting Ms. Owen who had been dead for decades. Turns out, he's a silent star fan, too, and he and his friend, Gor, visit the L.A. cemeteries often to pay their respects to Hollywood's late stars. They are my kind of people! I ended up meeting David and Gor at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, and they took me on a whirlwind tour of areas of the cemetery I hadn't seen before. And they are just wonderful people! David also brought me a copy of their magazine Daeida, which is filled with Gor's photography. The magazine is beautiful, and that's why I'm including it in the things I like. It's a magazine about "Hollywood's people, passions and its past." It's a perfect fit for me! Please check it out at www.daeida.com. You'll be glad you did!
