"New Orleans Cemeteries" by Robert Florence
The most comprehensive book I've found on New Orleans cemeteries. I recently met Rob Florence, and he is a great guy. He gave me and my family a whirlwind tour of N.O. cemeteries and shared just a portion of his wealth of knowledge about them. He is the founder of Historic New Orleans Tours as well as the author of this book and one on St. Louis #1. This book is well-worth picking up.
"Family Inheritance" and "Grave Intent" by Deborah LeBlanc
"Family Inheritance" is a great fictional thriller that takes you right into the bayous of Louisianna. This is a well-written first novel by LeBlanc, who introduces the readers to a gris-gris man and a brother and sister who fight for their sanity against the malevolent Maikana.
"Grave Intent" is another fascinating read about a couple who run a funeral home in Louisiana and end up doing battle against a Gypsy curse. According to Publishers Weekly, it's "an imaginative chiller. Riveting!" I'm reading it right now!
Intrigued? Pick up this book, and tell Deb that Minda sent you! Be sure to visit Deb's Web site and say hello. I also met Deb during my recent visit to New Orleans, and she is just the greatest person!

Books by Sharon DeBartolo Carmack
Sharon Carmack is THE expert on genealogical research, as far as I'm concerned. She's written a number of books that are invaluable if you are searching for your ancestors. I am a big fan of her book "Your Guide to Cemetery Research." It's not just for genealogists; if you are interested in cemetery studies, this book is a MUST!
"Stories in Stone" by Douglas Keister
I love this book. It's a small hardback with tons of information on cemetery art symbolism. As Doug is "the man" when it comes to photography, the book is, of course, filled with gorgeous color pictures. This handy book will fit quite nicely in your TheCemeteryClub.com tote bag (hint hint!).
