Pick up any number of "where are they buried" books about figures in history, and odds are that most of those figures will be men. So where are the ladies? We're going to find out.

I am interested in any woman in American history who has made a difference to her country, community or cause.
A number of these historical women will be obvious: Harriett Tubman, Betty Friedan, Susan B. Anthony, Geraldine Ferraro, Gwendolyn Brooks, etc. Others will be harder to find. I want to unearth them all, in a matter of speaking. Let's leave no gravestone unturned.
While I would love to be able to take a sabbatical and travel the country to take the photos and do all the research myself, I will have to rely on taphophiles like you who love history and cemeteries.
